Air-to-Air Photographer To all Guelph Gremlins: I would like to introduce Kevin Moore, an avid aerial photographer. Kevin will be presenting his air-to-air photos and will have his collection for sale. Make this night your landing zone! Without delay here's Kevin bio:
I have a family history in the military with my great, great grandfather having been an admiral in the British Royal Navy, my grandfather was in the Royal Flying Corps, my father was a Flight Engineer/pilot in the RAF, on both Lancaster and Halifax bombers during World War II and I joined the Canadian Reserves in 1983, flying with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets as a glider pilot/instructor and Standards Pilot until 2005, medically retiring at the rank of Major.
I have been involved in aviation all my life, having had my first flight in a glider, with my father as my pilot, when I was 3 years old. I have over 2000 glider flights and close to 200 power flights. I first started taking airplane photos when I was about 7 years old using my first camera, a Kodak 110 Pocket Camera (which I still have) and purchased my first SLR camera when I was 19. I've taken over 1 million images since then, despite having to take a break from photography around 1990 for over 10 years.
My forte in photography today is aviation, however, in my past, I have done portrait, glamour, wedding and nude photography and today also do landscapes and wildlife. The most enjoyable time I spend shooting is when I have the opportunity to do air-to-air photography. For me, it's a hobby and I think that's why I still enjoy it so much. - Kevin Moore.
